Uncle Martin Ferm-Grandma's Brother

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2008 02:16 PM, CDT

Today was the day. Martin left peacefully at 11:00 a.m. with Carrie by his side. Jay was nearby, and the rest of us joined in shortly. We are grateful that we were able to all be together for this transition, the six original Rock Island Ferms.

Arrangements for a family dinner on Saturday and a memorial service on Sunday are in the conceptual phase and subject to change. Details will be posted as soon as they are finalized.

Cousin Roger visits Uncle Martin in
Rock Island, IL only a couple weeks ago.
I wish you all had met him
He is in the last days of his life
after a 2 year battle with cancer.
Roger rented a convertible just to give Martin a nice ride.

tonight David took me to see the Bull Riders (PBR)
This was a first for both of us. I don't think I would
go again but it was fun to see it at least once.
Apparently this is Big Time Stuff.

I made Pasties for Grandma for her
birthday. She was so happy.
Pasties are very popular in Upper Michigan
were Grandma grew up.
We all enjoyed them this evening.
